What is ClubeChaT Chat?
ClubeChaT Chat is a free service provided to
participant’s world wide, in real time. ClubeChaT Chat is
text based; as each participant enters a statement, the
text appears on the screens of all the other
participants.
Chat is a great way to meet new friends from your own
area, or internationally.

What are
the chat room roles?
Symbols are placed in front of a user’s nickname to
assist in identifying their role in a specific chat room
or network.
Admin: Short for administrator; oversees the
whole of the chat server.
Sysop: Short for system operator is a ClubeChaT
trained chat specialist, whom oversees the organization
of chat rooms, events and individual participants.
Guide: Is a ClubeChaT certified and trained person
who assist users with any queries in such rooms as
HelpDesk. They’re great assistance for users new to chat
and often assist in room management and moderation.
Bot: Can be identified by the suffix _Bot.
These are automated programs that monitor chat room
conversations and assist in upholding the ClubeChaT Code of
Conduct & integrity of the server.
Room Owners: These users are room creators.
They have created the chat room and so own it and have
the power to kick out users at their own discretion as
well as host users whom they please.
Host: These users moderate the discussion of a
chat room, in user created rooms they have the ability
to remove chatters as they wish. They can also promote
others to host status.
Spectators/Observers: These users are able to
observe chat but not actively participate in it. Such
users are only found in event rooms, closed chat rooms
and help chat rooms such as HelpDesk. Users whom are
unregistered (Guests) will be observers.
Away: When this icon appears next to a user’s
nickname it means that their status is set to away. .
Ignore: When this icon appears next to a user’s
nickname it signifies that you’re currently blocking all
messages & whispers from the user.
Tagged: This icon is used when you’ve “tagged”
a user. Tagging a user means that their messages will
appear in bold, and a sound will alert when the user
sends a message.

Is
special software required to chat in ClubeChaT?
Upon arrival to ClubeChaT Chat, special and safe
software is installed onto your computer. This program
is downloaded to “C:/WINDOWS/Downloaded Internet
Programs” and will remain on your computer unless you
remove it manually.
To re-install the Chat Control users of windows
should go to C:/WINDOWS/Downloaded Internet Programs.
Then you should find "MSN Chat Control 4.5" with a
speech bubble icon. Right click this and select "Remove"
Ensure all IE browsers are closed and attempt to rejoin
a chat room. The control should automatically reinstall.

How can I
find a chat room?
There are several ways to find a chat room on ClubeChaT.
If you know the specific name of the chat room you can
use Join A
Chat. If you know the specific category the chat
room falls under you can use the category search. If you
cannot find a chat room that interests you, you’re
welcome to create one of your own.

How can I
join more than one room at once?
It is possible on ClubeChaT to be chatting in more than
one room at any one time. While in a chat room, you can
select “More
Rooms ”a new instance of Internet Explorer should
open and you should be able to join another room.
Alternatively you can open a new instant of Internet
Explorer by going to File > New > Window.

Why can't
I connect to ClubeChaT Chat?
There are several reasons why you may be unable to
connect to ClubeChaT Chat.
1) Ensure that cookies are enabled. A cookie is a
text file of information placed on your hard drive by a
Web site. Generally Web sites use the information to
improve your experience in their site. You can make sure
cookies are enabled by adjusting your security settings.
(Windows users) click Tools > Internet Options >
Security > Trusted Sites > Sites > type:
http://www.ClubeChaT.com > add > ok > apply > ok.
2) Try re-installing chat control (See: Is special software required to chat in ClubeChaT?)
3) ClubeChaT Chat uses safe software that sometimes is
blocked by Internet Explorer. Windows users should go to
Tools > Internet Options > Security Settings and ensure
that they’re set to medium or lower.
4) Ensure that you’ve created a passport, and signed
in. (See: How do I create a passport?)

How do I
use acronyms and emoticons?
Emoticons are special small graphics inserted in chat
to express feelings and emotions. There are a number of
available emoticons in ClubeChaT Chat all can be found here.
Acronyms have been created by chat enthusiasts to
create a more flowing chat experience; they often
involve the shortening of words especially depending on
the first letter. EG. (BRB = be right back, LOL = Laugh
Out Loud) such chat lingo takes time to develop.

Why does
ClubeChaT record my IP Address?
An IP Address is your computers unique code number
for identifying itself. Such information is collected by
ClubeChaT communications in the event of foul, indecent or
criminal activity on any of its services. ClubeChaT also
records such information to prevent or counter-attack
users with the malicious intent of damaging the
integrity of the server.
In accordance with the ClubeChaT Statement, as well as
the Electronic Communications Privacy Act, ClubeChaT will
only disclose registration, communication, IP address,
or other connection log information to a law enforcement
official, and only when properly served with a subpoena,
search warrant, or court order.
